Microsoft visual C ++ runtime error, what is it, can I still use my computer and printer,?
the hp driver %26amp; program update software for your hp scanner or printer has a bug in it...uninstall the hp driver %26amp; programs update software but not the driver itself and it should go away....also try look on hp's website to see if they have a newer version of the driver update software. it shouldnt affect the rest of your pc's functions though.
Reply:post the error and we will let you know how to fix it.

--------------------------------------...

OK reinstall the software for your hp scanner or dig. cam.

that should do it~(best would be to completely uninstall it and then reinstall it)
Reply:Depends on when it occurred.

It means some application has a one time problem OR you found a permanent bug in something that repeats itself over and over.

Just don't use that piece of software or get an upgrade or re-load it.

It's basically some program that is running is talking with a remote system program that can't deal with something because they wrote it wrong.

Your error message sounds like it's software for a camera or your printer.

Reinstall the software or go to their site and get an upgrade. Call or e-mail the HP support site.

The digital imaging software has encountered a problem, probably a bug in an old software version.
Reply:Lets start with the most important. You can still use your computer and printer.

A runtime error means that your computer had difficulty translating and running a program that was started on your computer and needed to stop running it. The error message just tells you this.

Really, the error message won't be of much use to you but it would be useful for a programmer to find out what is wrong.

If you get this error often, try to find out which of the installed programs or applications is causing the error. For example, if it happens when you are using a particular piece of software then you could probably assume that software is causing the error.

If it happened just once, then you can safely ignore this message.

Why does this happen?

Software is extremely complex. Even though most software is thoroughly tested before it is released, there can be times when certain programs don't work in certain environments and on certain PC's. You can expect to see errors all the time. You don't need to worry.

Computers are tenacious little beasts and it takes alot to break them just by using them. So relax and be confident.

I've just read your additional information, so it would appear that the problem has something to do with an HP scanner or digital camera which you have got installed.

You should try reinstalling the software that came with the scanner or camera again if this problems keeps occuring.

You can also contact HP for additional support.

Reply:This is a software error. It depends on the application in which the error occured if you can still use your computer and or printer. As long as this is not windows and a non-critical application, everything is OK and computer+printer should continue to work normally.

If it happens in Windows, you may want to restore your computer, if you have restore points, otherwise it may be wise to update or reinstall your system.
Reply:Sounds like trouble with your printer settings or software.

If the error message has an 'OK' button, then you should be able to click that and it will go away, then you should be able to carry on.

Assuming that you're running Microsoft windows on your PC, the number one rule if the machine freezes up is 'Don't Panic!' Next, to restart the machine (Start-%26gt;Shutdown-%26gt;restart). If you can't get any response at all, press Control, Alt and Delete keys all at the same time, and then pick shut down.

Once you've got the machine going again, everything should be fine, but if not try re-installing you printer software.
