I can't get my norton antivirus to run,get message up saying Runtime Error R6025-pure virtual function call
OK heres the story

Norton is a reseource hog, and will slow your pc down. If you can stick with this until your licence runs out you should uninstall norton and the reinstall it, using there unisntall program.

If you want a new virus scanner get AVG (free for personal use ) as it is a much better scanner and doenst cause so many problems on your system.
Reply:I had a similar problem just ended up unstalling the the whole programme and went for McAfee.
Reply:Norton give lot of problems
Reply:Please tell the windows version everytime you ask a question, and also the version of the software you are using.

Anyway in this case, if you happen to possess a cd for the norton antivirus, then go to control panel %26gt; add remove programs

Look for the norton antivirus, live update(symantec), livereg(symantec), Remove all the three programs.

Then restart your computer once.

Then install the norton antivirus setup parogram.

Run Liveupdate after the installation is complete, while connected to internet. This will keep the program in good shape.
Reply:Try to reinstall your norton antivirus.
Reply:It means that your anti-virus program's completely corrupted by a spyware/malware program and you'll have to re-install it and try again.

My Spybot S%26amp;D was done in recently and I had to re-install it by getting a more updated version which was much better than its older cousin.
Reply:why do people keep on buying norton its junk go get avg for free and have a drink with the money you save
Reply:Norton............. get rid of it! Go AVG or AVAST :-)

try using the auto fix tool on that link it should resolve that problem....

hope it works
Reply:I had this very same problem and found that spy ware and trojens had corupted the files.

THIS is how i fixed it; go to

http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan...

and follow the instuctions. You do not need to use any of the links on the left or right. At the top click on install active x, move down the page and you will see a big box with nubers scolling at the bottom. waite for that to finish and then select the type of scan you want. I sugest a deep scan or thorough. Let it scan and follow the instuctions at the end. If there is someting their it will find it.

after your computer is clean. Uninstall Norton and get another anti-virus.

Avast anti virus is good and free at

www.avast.com

free home adittion.

OR at

www.download.com

there is loads of free stuf to download.
Reply:Really means you should go with something better like AVG from grisoft.com (free personal version available)
