I have a program, SEO Elite to be precise, but it won't run a website search, because this error message apears:

This has been a great problem, and I was wondering whether anyone knows how to fix this problem simply?!

This kind of problems are because some files got corrupted on your computer (if you installed a program that use some of the files of SEO Elite, that could be the cause).





The safe way is to uninstall the program and install it again.





I can't give you a more accurate answer because the problem can be in many parts of the software.

Okay, what you want to to do is unistall Internet Explorer 7, because it's still in beta (sort of) and it's going to mess up your system. This is from a person who builds and fixes computers for a living. Also, if you get the error again, it's maybe because the account isn't setup correctly, Windows XP can make mistakes every so-often. Try uninstalling or reinstalling internet explorer by going to start, then control panel. In control panel go to add or remove programs, then when a box appears click on add/remove windows components on the left. When another box comes up select internet explorer and press next. This should fix the problem.

Reply:Where did you get your copy of Nero - looks to me like it is not a legit copy. If it is then you should contact their techinical support directly.





If it is not a legitimate copy then, no offence, you kinda put yourself in this situation, and unless somebody was in front of your pc, the chances of properly fixing it are very slim.

I was having a similar problem where the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime framework emitting an error "abnormal program termination." iTunes version 7.2 would open, the iTunes Music Store window would open, connect to iTMS, and display, at which time the error occurred.





Re-running the iTunes 7.2 installer did not work, so I resigned myself to update to version 7.3. Using Apple Software Update to update to iTunes 7.3 failed saying a newer version was installed.





Since I had already downloaded the iTunes update, in Apple Software Update I went to the Tools menu, then "Open downloaded updates folder..." I double-clicked the iTunes 7.3 MSI file, which happily installed iTunes 7.3. I'm now able to run iTunes, although it's version 7.3.

Runtime errors occur when you are missing or have a corrupt file, and if someone is booting you with an option that is called a C++ boot.





The boot will actually give you that error and shut you down.





I would try logging into a totally seperate account and see if the same thing happens.





If it does, then it's probably a missing or corrupt file.

2. If it does, uninstall and reinstall YM and see if the error occurs

SAL is self-assessment library. That is the CD I was trying to run when I got the error.

Runtime error?
Make a new folder on your desktop and copy SAL.exe into that folder. You might need to copy every file on the CD into that folder you just created if SAL depends on them to run( including the file structure).


If youre still having problems right-click on SAL.exe (the one in the folder you just created) select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and click the checkbox "run this program in compatibility mode for" and then select an OS that SAL supports (if you have Vista try XP SP2). Also check "Run this program as an administrator"

I use family tree maker but when I load, I get the message "did not shut down properly last time" and now when I try to merge information I get the web merge wizard giving - Runtime error. c:\programfiles\familytreemaker 2006\FTWexe. - This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. -Tree maker then closes. I'd try a reinstall! It should overwrite the proggy %26amp; associated files but leave your data intact.





Basically you will be fixing the problem. It sounds to me like something has got corrupted somehow, be it the registry entries or a dll or even the main proggy (FTW.exe!) a reinstall will just put a new copy over the top of the old one.





When you try a reinstall the installer might offer you a repair option, try that first.

Go to your start menu


add/remove programs ( remove all your Java downloads)


open your browser and type in Sun Downloads


look for the Java (TM) SE Runtime 6.1


and download it.


When you download .... select the cutom install and go through the proccess.


When it asks what file/directory to download to select other or new ..... sry i can't remember exactly what the options were there but it is obvious once you are there.


When you can see the name of the file/directory just add another ending .... like ??? \save.


Your download should proceed without any problems and you should be able to get into Yahoo games no problem.

Norton is a reseource hog, and will slow your pc down. If you can stick with this until your licence runs out you should uninstall norton and the reinstall it, using there unisntall program.

At the top click on install active x, move down the page and you will see a big box with nubers scolling at the bottom. waite for that to finish and then select the type of scan you want. I sugest a deep scan or thorough. Let it scan and follow the instuctions at the end. If there is someting their it will find it.

This happened to me this morning when I was typing an essay. I retyped they whole thing and the error happened again when I tried to save it. Now, I am trying to recover it, and every time I do, I get that error message. How do I fix it????

Dunno what's causing the Runtime Error, but I can suggest a strategy to help you isolate it. Try this: Create a very small file in Word and see if you can save it to a different directory. If you can't you at least know you have a problem not related to the file you're creating. In this case, I'd suggest reinstalling (or repairing) Word from the Office CD.





If you can save the test file, try again, this time into the directory you want to save the real file in. Failure points to something with the directory. Permissions? A corrupted directory?





If the second save succeeds, try recreating your real file a bit at a time in the real directory, saving often to see where it fails. That might give you a clue as to what's causing the problem.

CCAPP.exe is a key element in Norton Internet Security/Antivirus. If it isn't working, NIS and/or NAV aren't working. Are those other users running them?





You may have some malware that disables Norton Internet Security. I suggest you download the free Stinger from McAfee and run it in Safe Mode. Stinger's only purpose in life is to detect attacks on the major A-V programs.





It’s so good at it the publisher has had to change its name a few times to keep malware from defending against it.





It may be a good idea to run Stinger in Safe Mode. Safe Mode often prevents the malware from running and protecting itself.





Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.





To get into Safe Mode:





1. Log out and reboot your machine.


2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.


3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.


4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. Log in as Administrator. Administrator often has no password.


5. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.





I don't know if Stinger can actually fix any damage done -- you may have to reinstall Norton -- but it should keep it from being re-disabled when you do.

msiexec.exe belongs to the Windows Installer Component and is used to install new programs that use Windows Installer package files so just re-start and you should be fine

Looks like some sort of trojan or something, usually stuff you install will not install to the root of the program files folder like that. I think its a trojan ..... If I were you and had that on my pc i would back it up to flashdrive or floppy then delete it, it shouldnt come up again and in case of trouble i have a back up of it...

This seems to only happen when I start to play an on-line game . After about 3 minutes my game freezes up and I get this error. It might be your laptop doesn't have the ability, you should try update your video card by looking it up at Windows Update NOT Microsoft Update because Windows Update will list all of the updates from that card maker and what card it works for. So go to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ca... and click on "Find Driver Updates" then "Video" it will give you a list of update by your maker and you can use filters as well to find it. Also do a disk defragment or disk clean up both are not harmful they just clean up your system of files and compresses them. Also check for game updates.

I found this in What's New In Mail:


We’re wrapping up a few remaining compatibility issues between Yahoo! Mail Beta and the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta, and we’ll open up our Beta to their Beta towards the end of this month. Folks on the bleeding edge, please sit tight!


This applies to almost all mail (including signing in, composing, receiving, sending, attachments, photos etc.) and search problems for the last two weeks.





So, It appears we have to un-install these two things or try to work around them

Login on My Yahoo! page


Select the link at top right to go to Yahoo!'s Home Page.


Mouse over the Mail Icon under where it says (Hi, your Yahoo! id).


You should get a drop down menu with your latest emails displayed.


Select an email and click it. You then get to a new page about Shortcuts, but just select the button for Mail and it should take you to your Mail page.


It wasn't getting redirected to the shortcuts page on some servers and not going to the mail page.


This is also working for some:


Click the "Options" link in the upper right of your Mail page.


On the Options page, in the "Management" column, click on "General Preferences".


Find the "Composing E-mails" section, "Mode:", and choose "Compose messages as plain text".


Scroll to the bottom and click the "Save" button.


Now try it. Can you Compose, Reply to a message or Forward?


This is working for some also:


Make sure your screen resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels. Right click on your desktop, click Properties, click the "Settings" tab, left click and hold on the screen resolution bar and drag it all the way to the right, click Apply and click OK.

Where can i download this for Windows Vista Home Premium (x32)? I take it the x32 is the 32bit version. . . . . I'm having a problem running XARA MENU MAKER 1.1. Everytime i start up the program, it comes up with the error "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error. . . . I've tried everything. I've searched on the internet, and even opened up a support ticket to Xara. No luck at all. . . . .





The thing is the program runs fine on my desktop computer, which is the same brand (Acer), same bit (32 bit), and same OS (Windows Vista Home Premium).





I've uninstalled the program, deleted the Xara registry entries, rebooted, and reinstalled the program then rebooted. . . nothing works! Please help me!!!! i'll send money to whoever helps me. . LOL

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library?
The C++ runtime library should be on your machine already. I don't believe Windows could run for five seconds without it. The "Runtime error" may indicate that it's not being used properly by the menu maker.





The only thing I could suggest is what you've already done: Open a trouble ticket with Xara.

Explorer.exe runtime error?

I am using Window XP professional with SP2. I have 2 administratve accounts (adminA and adminB).





I start IE by using the account adminA. Then I switch to the adminB account. I attempt to start IE or a window explorer in the adminB account. However, I cannot start any of them. The following error prompt pops up.





"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error Program c:\winnt\explorer.exe. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info."

I am also dealing with this problem. Have you downloaded/installed any new progams as of late, particularly Google Earth, Warez P2P, or updated Windows Media Player?





I read in some message boards that these may be the culprits... if we both installed these recently, it just might be one of these things conflicting with the OS.





Hope it helps, and let me know so I can also remedy the my problem. It's driving us crazy!

check the error logs and see if there is a microsoft link to a fix !





if not, probably re-installing the OS is your only way out.

your computer does not have enough ram to play the game and after u get this error u restart the computer and start to play the game for a while right and then the error shows up again you need to add more ram to your computer then u will stop seeing this error

Try going to 'Find' or 'Search' under the start menu and looking for iexplore.exe and run it from there...make a shortcut of it that works and put it on your desktop. If that doesn't work, it may have become corrupt and you may need to reinstall it. Could also be spyware or a virus, in which case I recommend downloading Avast! and Ad-Aware. Hope this helps!

You may need to do a repair install of the operating system





some files must be messed up.





If you can get another copy of IE you could just install that, but u need the internet to download it.

Reply:The error probably due to corruption of 1 or more files of Internet explorer program, to solve it,


1. go to control panel, add/remove programs, look down the list to locate entry(ies) contains Windows Internet explorer, click on it, then click remove button. Dont worry about the branching security patch, just remove the main entry will do.


2. go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloa... , download and install the latest Internet explorer,


After the installation, reboot pc, then you will find the pop up error message gone.

unistall the program....restart and reinstall it. Or just use windows restore to roll back when u didn't have the issue...

You IE software is corrupted. Uninstall the IE and reinstall the browser software to fix it. Since you may not be able to download IE package, you can use your recovery disk for the fix. Reply:Explorer is the Windows user shell. It should be in your C:\Windows or C:\WINNT directory. You should probably scan for adware and viruses. Something had to put the extra (tainted?) copy in the root directory of C:. Something is fishy. I would check to see how many copies of Explorer.exe you have. If you have the one in the Windows/WINNT directory, then I think you can safely remove any that may be in the root directory. Of course, I would also check the sys.ini file and the registry as well. Oh, and you may wish to try the MSConfig program to see if Explorer is getting loaded additionally at startup.





PS., Explorer.exe is not the same as Iexplore.exe. The first one is the system shell, not Internet Explorer as is the second one.
Reply:wat have u installed recently? or at about the time that problem started? try uninstalling that. get hijackthis, scan ur computer wit it and search for a website that tells u wat entries to delete, get ad-aware and scan ur computer, and scan wit ur antivirus, but u sure its on C:\explorer? and not C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe? ummm and just in case, download a lil program called atf-cleaner it will delete all ur temp files, there might be something in there.....
