Our first recommendation is for the reader to upgrade to a recent edition of Norton AntiVirus or some other reputable antivirus utility. We suspect the reader has let his annual update subscription lapse and is therefore using an out-of-date utility. This isn’t prudent computing behavior; any virus, worm, or Trojan horse released since the reader’s most recent update can slip past the utility’s monitoring features. Indeed, viruses are known to cause this same type of “R6025” error in other applications, including Windows Explorer, although we don’t think that is the situation here.
