I have a program, SEO Elite to be precise, but it won't run a website search, because this error message apears:

This has been a great problem, and I was wondering whether anyone knows how to fix this problem simply?!

This kind of problems are because some files got corrupted on your computer (if you installed a program that use some of the files of SEO Elite, that could be the cause).

The safe way is to uninstall the program and install it again.

I can't give you a more accurate answer because the problem can be in many parts of the software.

I am running Windows XP.Internet Explorer 7. I have recieved this message in my daughters account while trying to open Internet Explorer:

So what is this? How do I go about contacting the support team? All other accounts on my computer are fine. I have never recieved this message before. Clicking "OK" on the window closes Internet Explorer. I tried twice more, same message.

Okay, what you want to to do is unistall Internet Explorer 7, because it's still in beta (sort of) and it's going to mess up your system. This is from a person who builds and fixes computers for a living. Also, if you get the error again, it's maybe because the account isn't setup correctly, Windows XP can make mistakes every so-often. Just delete the account and make a new one; or do a system restore. And the system support isn't available for free, you have to call a 900 # need more help? email me:

Try uninstalling or reinstalling internet explorer by going to start, then control panel. In control panel go to add or remove programs, then when a box appears click on add/remove windows components on the left. When another box comes up select internet explorer and press next. This should fix the problem.

Try uninstalling Power Cinema and then reinstalling it.
Reply:Go into the help menu when you open nero there should be a support or go to their site and download a patch or a update to fix this.
Reply:Where did you get your copy of Nero - looks to me like it is not a legit copy. If it is then you should contact their techinical support directly.

If it is not a legitimate copy then, no offence, you kinda put yourself in this situation, and unless somebody was in front of your pc, the chances of properly fixing it are very slim.

If there not on that list click on add program just under list. On that list find webcam and messenger and check them,may have to do one at a time. Then ok.On first list check make sure both webcam and messenger are there and checked.Then ok. no need to ever change these setting's.When showing only use large webcam screen when really need'ed.Happy viewing .

Run the full safety scanner, it takes a few seconds to install the scanning files but when you start the scan, it takes 2 hours or more. Let it load the scanning tools, then start the Safety Scan. So once it starts to load the safety scans' x file of x , you can leave the computer and go to bed etc.

Then at the end of the scan it asks you to set it running full time.

Think twice about setting it to run in the background as it could be another thing to slow you down. However, it may be worth while if you have no other security programs running.

Consider the following options:

I personally run Norton 360 which is full internet security and run superantispyware when I want to.

So if you don’t have a decent internet security program then perhaps run the superantispyware with your antivirus in the background.

If you sick of antivirus programs that don’t work perhaps run onecare full time and run superantispyware whenever.

Now you should be flying and Onecare has even set up a new system restore point for you.

Over time IE7 seems to set its own (or programs do) tick boxes in the advance tab.

Delete Browser History, cookies, add ons, the whole lot regularly.

NOTE: 2008 will be the year of add on malware and spyware. I advise NOT to install active x when asked to on unknown websites. If you allow an active x install and it contains adware or such, no antivirus or anti-spyware will find it, because you have given permission to install it. When first released, phishing filter slowed IE7. Apparently, Microsoft has fixed this through the windows updates. If you like you could try to run it - bullet the enable.

Only run one phishing filter program, and only run one firewall program.

I was having a similar problem where the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime framework emitting an error "abnormal program termination." iTunes version 7.2 would open, the iTunes Music Store window would open, connect to iTMS, and display, at which time the error occurred.

Re-running the iTunes 7.2 installer did not work, so I resigned myself to update to version 7.3. Using Apple Software Update to update to iTunes 7.3 failed saying a newer version was installed.

Since I had already downloaded the iTunes update, in Apple Software Update I went to the Tools menu, then "Open downloaded updates folder..." I double-clicked the iTunes 7.3 MSI file, which happily installed iTunes 7.3. I'm now able to run iTunes, although it's version 7.3.

Reply:There are two reasons why this happens.

Runtime errors occur when you are missing or have a corrupt file, and if someone is booting you with an option that is called a C++ boot.

The boot will actually give you that error and shut you down.

I would try logging into a totally seperate account and see if the same thing happens.

If it does, then it's probably a missing or corrupt file.

Do you have Microsoft Money installed? If you do, and you're not using it, try uninstalling it. Microsoft have reported that MS Money causes this kind of error sometimes.

1. Reboot your machine and see if the error occurs

2. If it does, uninstall and reinstall YM and see if the error occurs

3. If it does, go to your startup program list (msconfig) and disable each non-essential program one by one - chances are one of them is conflicting with Yahoo Messenger

But this could really help: Restart your PC, upon restart, press the F8 many times till you get a black screen, you will see options, use the arrow keys to scroll and select the one that says "Last know good configuration" just press enter key after that.

SAL is self-assessment library. That is the CD I was trying to run when I got the error.

Runtime error?
Make a new folder on your desktop and copy SAL.exe into that folder. You might need to copy every file on the CD into that folder you just created if SAL depends on them to run( including the file structure).

If youre still having problems right-click on SAL.exe (the one in the folder you just created) select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and click the checkbox "run this program in compatibility mode for" and then select an OS that SAL supports (if you have Vista try XP SP2). I'd try a reinstall! It should overwrite the proggy %26amp; associated files but leave your data intact.

Basically you will be fixing the problem. It sounds to me like something has got corrupted somehow, be it the registry entries or a dll or even the main proggy (FTW.exe!) a reinstall will just put a new copy over the top of the old one.

When you try a reinstall the installer might offer you a repair option, try that first.

I couldn't get into Yahoo!! games either but it's now working.

Go to your start menu

add/remove programs ( remove all your Java downloads)

open your browser and type in Sun Downloads

look for the Java (TM) SE Runtime 6.1

and download it.

When you download .... select the cutom install and go through the proccess.

When it asks what file/directory to download to select other or new ..... sry i can't remember exactly what the options were there but it is obvious once you are there.

When you can see the name of the file/directory just add another ending .... like ??? \save.

Your download should proceed without any problems and you should be able to get into Yahoo games no problem.

It worked for me .... hope it helps : )

Norton is a reseource hog, and will slow your pc down. If you can stick with this until your licence runs out you should uninstall norton and the reinstall it, using there unisntall program.

At the top click on install active x, move down the page and you will see a big box with nubers scolling at the bottom. waite for that to finish and then select the type of scan you want. I sugest a deep scan or thorough. Let it scan and follow the instuctions at the end. If there is someting their it will find it.

This happened to me this morning when I was typing an essay. I retyped they whole thing and the error happened again when I tried to save it. Now, I am trying to recover it, and every time I do, I get that error message. How do I fix it????

Dunno what's causing the Runtime Error, but I can suggest a strategy to help you isolate it. Try this: Create a very small file in Word and see if you can save it to a different directory. If you can't you at least know you have a problem not related to the file you're creating. In this case, I'd suggest reinstalling (or repairing) Word from the Office CD.

If you can save the test file, try again, this time into the directory you want to save the real file in. Failure points to something with the directory. Permissions? A corrupted directory?

If the second save succeeds, try recreating your real file a bit at a time in the real directory, saving often to see where it fails. That might give you a clue as to what's causing the problem.

CCAPP.exe is a key element in Norton Internet Security/Antivirus. If it isn't working, NIS and/or NAV aren't working. Are those other users running them?

You may have some malware that disables Norton Internet Security. I suggest you download the free Stinger from McAfee and run it in Safe Mode. Stinger's only purpose in life is to detect attacks on the major A-V programs.

It’s so good at it the publisher has had to change its name a few times to keep malware from defending against it.

It may be a good idea to run Stinger in Safe Mode. Safe Mode often prevents the malware from running and protecting itself.

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

To get into Safe Mode:

1. Log out and reboot your machine.

2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.

4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. Log in as Administrator. Administrator often has no password.

5. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

I don't know if Stinger can actually fix any damage done -- you may have to reinstall Norton -- but it should keep it from being re-disabled when you do.

msiexec.exe belongs to the Windows Installer Component and is used to install new programs that use Windows Installer package files so just re-start and you should be fine

Looks like some sort of trojan or something, usually stuff you install will not install to the root of the program files folder like that. I think its a trojan ..... This seems to only happen when I start to play an on-line game . After about 3 minutes my game freezes up and I get this error. It might be your laptop doesn't have the ability, you should try update your video card by looking it up at Windows Update NOT Microsoft Update because Windows Update will list all of the updates from that card maker and what card it works for. So go to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ca... and click on "Find Driver Updates" then "Video" it will give you a list of update by your maker and you can use filters as well to find it. Also do a disk defragment or disk clean up both are not harmful they just clean up your system of files and compresses them. Also check for game updates.

When I start my computer, it gets as far as the users screen, and then goes black. A message appears saying there is a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error" coming from "aluschedulersvc." This is from Symnatec Live Update on Windows XP. Any ideas? Bear in mind that I can't get into my computer; it boots, displays the error message, and restarts itself. Obviously, this question is coming from a separate computer.

If you recently made changes to your PC prior to this issue, such as software installs, you may need to remove the new software or reverse other changes to see what happens. If this doesn't help then I would suggest the following:

First, uninstall the application with the error. You could then delete the folder that contained the application that was uninstalled. Then reinstall application.

The C++ runtime library should be on your machine already. I don't believe Windows could run for five seconds without it. The "Runtime error" may indicate that it's not being used properly by the menu maker.

The only thing I could suggest is what you've already done: Open a trouble ticket with Xara.

I am using Window XP professional with SP2. I have 2 administratve accounts (adminA and adminB).

I start IE by using the account adminA. Then I switch to the adminB account. I attempt to start IE or a window explorer in the adminB account. However, I cannot start any of them. The following error prompt pops up.

I am also dealing with this problem. Have you downloaded/installed any new progams as of late, particularly Google Earth, Warez P2P, or updated Windows Media Player?

I read in some message boards that these may be the culprits... if we both installed these recently, it just might be one of these things conflicting with the OS.

Try going to 'Find' or 'Search' under the start menu and looking for iexplore.exe and run it from there...make a shortcut of it that works and put it on your desktop. If that doesn't work, it may have become corrupt and you may need to reinstall it. Could also be spyware or a virus, in which case I recommend downloading Avast! and Ad-Aware. Hope this helps!

Reply:Explorer is the Windows user shell. It should be in your C:\Windows or C:\WINNT directory. You should probably scan for adware and viruses. Something had to put the extra (tainted?) copy in the root directory of C:. Something is fishy. I would check to see how many copies of Explorer.exe you have. If you have the one in the Windows/WINNT directory, then I think you can safely remove any that may be in the root directory. Of course, I would also check the sys.ini file and the registry as well. Oh, and you may wish to try the MSConfig program to see if Explorer is getting loaded additionally at startup.

PS., Explorer.exe is not the same as Iexplore.exe. The first one is the system shell, not Internet Explorer as is the second one.

Please help. Everytime I switch on laptop an error message pops up with the heading: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libarary. Then in the message box itself it say:

I tend to carry on working and not touch the error message. This is because if I click on OK or close it using the x in the corner,everything all icons and task bars everything will disappear from my screen and sometimes everything will reappear after a few secs including the SAME error message or the machine will be crashed and I will have to turn it off using the power button as nothing is running, not even control/alt/delete.

What can I do to fix this problem??

I have had this same error message problem before, and this time i closed itunes and opened it again several times, which did not help. I have the latest version of the software, and even tried downloading it again to see if that would help matters, but i am still getting the error.

I deleted most of my downloads, closed all open windows, and tried again. It didn't work. Tried a couple of hours later and held the mouse down on one of the songs-so it would start playing. Reply:I'm sorry but "Ms. Dell"'s suggestion is pretty unorthodox. You should never delete a program by going to the Programs folder and deleting the corresponding program. You should always go to "Control Panels" %26gt; "Add/Remove Programs" and find the program you want to remove there. That will get rid of all of the hidden files most programs throw all over your hard drive.

Also, deleting your downloads and browsing history won't have anything to do with iTunes getting a runtime error.

So if you want to uninstall iTunes, do it through add/remove programs. It might work if you do it the other way but a lot of the time this will get you into trouble.

Hi DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library, this is basically the registry files and i am pretty sure that you have a missing or corrupt file or files first try as systems restore back to when you knew all was ok, but if that does not help you will have to use a windows installation disc run it as though you we performing a clean install, dont do a repair at the 1st prompt to repair windows as that will take you into the recovery console but choose the second option to repair windows, this will carry on as though it were a clean install but you will have all your data etc intact at the end but all the system files will have been rewritten.thus replacing the corrupt files causing your problem. anyway Good Luck.

Whenever I start up my dell vista computer, I get a message that says:

"Buffer overrun detected!"

"Program: C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE"

"A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated."

I have no idea how to get rid of the message, I downloaded AVG antivirus, Spybot, and AdAware, scanned my computer using all three programs and still no luck! Please computer technicians, I really need help, my computer is only 5 months old!

Hey, I'm actually having the same problem. I've also noticed that iTunes stops working as well, so bummer. I think, though that the best thing to do is run a registry scan on your computer. "Registry is a file that is used to log all the changes you make to your system. As you install and uninstall programs in your computer, you make changes to the registry. Overtime, the registry becomes cluttered and causes all sorts of PC performance problems," the site below should help answer some questions. If that doesn't work you can try reinstalling the operationg system or even reformating %26amp; and reinstalling your computer (delete everyting and basically clean sweep of ALL information on your computer)

Do not select 'Open', choose the option 'Save' then after downloading the attachment, if it is a picture open it with a default image viewer.

If the file (or attachment) was from Yahoo!Mail, it's pretty clean since it was scanned first before actually sent to you.

I ahve just recently installed Star Wars republic Commando on my new PC and have recieved a Microsoft C++ visual library runtime error whn i press play and afterwards my mouse just shows the disk loading symbol and doesn't go away until I log off and log back un again.
